Dear Jack and Wendy,

I just wanted to say “thanks” again for such an awesome week. My head is still swimming and I’ve got a silly smile of satisfaction on my face. Everything about my camp experience was positive, from opening night to breakfast this morning. And, the training was much more than I ever expectedVolhard Dog Training and NutritionVolhard Dog Training and Nutrition. You have such a wonderful and caring staff.

Thank you so much for sharing your incredible knowledge and passion for dogs.

I hope to see you this September (Healthy Dog Conference) and again in April 2010.

Bella & Gloria too!

Hi Jack and Wendy,

I love the picture.  I'll put it on my board in my office to look at and smile about.  I came home completely mentally and physically exhausted.  I was finally completely back on my feet yesterday!  Thank you for a completely wonderful camp experience.  I learned so much and made some new friends and became better acquainted with some old friends.  The lectures were incredible, the only problem was that they were just not long enough for me!!  I am so happy that I was in Open with you Wendy.  You made me stretch myself physically, mentally and emotionally, and for that I am grateful.   I'm planning on attending the Health and Nutrition camp in Sept. and attending camp again next year.
Thank you again,

Kelly Case

Camp was wonderful! The weather was in the 50's-60's for most of the week. Overcast most days with snow flurries on two! I was doing agility as my main class so I felt rather warm running with my Belgian Malinois, Gunnar, who LOVED it! We had a great agility class of 5, which was  perfect as we got to practice a lot and by the end all of our dogs were performing rather well. Theresa Richmond was our trainer and I think our class would agree she was phenomenal. We had different levels of experience in our class and she was able to adapt for everyone! I can't wait for next year to bring my special needs Malinois, Bam, to the class!

The tough part about camp is there are so many great workshops but you can't take them all at once!

I took Wendy's introduction to Nutrition, which I believe is a sampling of her fall program. I found the discussion on homeopathy particularly interesting as I've used some remedies to help my horses. In fact, one of the remedies she suggested for bloat, I've used successfully on a horse with gas colic! I am hoping to be able to attend the fall session if my work schedule permits.

I also took the Rally class, which was taught by Dennis and Susan Shea. It was very informative as they explained the different signs & their meanings and how to approach the sport using the Volhard method. For example how to position yourself & dog when walking through the serpentine, proper turns, the sprials, the differences between the about turn, and the military turn! It was a fun class, but they worked us hard!

Mary Ann's first aid class is very informative and something I would recommend everyone take at least once. I did take it last year and when my pup broke his leg in January, I knew how to pick him up so I could carry him to my car.

I don't want to talk about the weight I gained from all the delicious food! There was an all you can eat seafood buffet... OMG! I will be eating nothing but salads for a month!

The best part of camp is seeing my friends and making new ones.

Staff - 2009

It took the Volhards many years to assemble a truly outstanding team of instructors to teach at their Camps. Every member of the team is an experienced and knowledgeable instructor, as well as seminar presenter. All share one common goal: to make the Camp experience the absolute best it can be for the participants and their dogs.
